🗺️How to Get the Pirate Shop Token
The Fortnite shop token, shown in-game as Pirate Shop Access, is a rare chest reward. Once activated, it lets you claim eligible Fortnite Item Shop cosmetics for free for 14 days.
- Which chests: Any Battle Royale chest on Crossbones Isle can roll a Treasure Hunt prize, and Pirate Shop Access is in that prize pool. The first reported winner said the chest "looked like any other." When it drops, a gold banner reads "YOU FOUND PIRATE SHOP ACCESS."
- When: Treasure Hunters began Nov 1, and the season ends Dec 5, 2026. Game Rant and Destructoid report the token is obtainable during the season. Epic hasn't confirmed an exact cutoff time.
- Modes: Battle Royale and Zero Build, according to Game Rant and Beebom. Game Rant says it can't drop in bot lobbies. Ranked is not confirmed yet. press reports
- You don't need to win: Players report keeping the token after being eliminated. The reward screen appears when you return to the lobby. player reports
👥 Squad sharing
Vice, Beebom, Destructoid and Game Rant report that one find covers the whole party/squad. Game Rant and the Times of India say this includes Squad Fill teammates (randoms). Epic's own reward text doesn't mention squads. press reports
⚓ Farming tips (they help you open more chests, but don't raise the drop rate)
- Land at chest-dense named POIs. Finds have been reported at Arlong Park and Loguetown, but that's luck, not a hot spot.
- Chests refill over time in v43.00, so you can revisit and reopen them.
- Fortune Sprite reveals nearby chests. Plundarrgh gives speed when you open chests.
- Vault trick: Explosive Cannonballs, the Gum Gum Fruit, or Shockwave Grenades can break chests inside locked vaults without a key, and those chests can still roll the token. Epic could patch this. unconfirmed by Epic
🎲Pirate Token Drop Rate Explained
- Official rate: unknown. Epic's announcement and the in-game screen give no drop rate. Leaker HYPEX said on launch day "the odds are unknown as of now."
- 1 in 700,000 (≈0.00014% per chest): This is the most-cited figure. Creator CrisCraft shared it on X as the "first reported odds," and outlets repeated it. No one has shown how it was calculated. estimate
- LootTrackerFN: On day one, LootTrackerFN estimated 30,000–50,000 chests opened by ~2,000,000 players, with fewer than 10 reported winners. GamingBible turned that into "0.0333% of chests" (≈1 in 3,000). The inputs look inconsistent, so treat it as a very rough, optimistic upper bound. estimate
- Anecdotes: The first winner, snowslept, reported ~150 chests over 3 matches. Another player reported 100 chests with nothing. Two data points can't tell you a rate.
- The math: P = 1 − (1 − p)n. At 1/700,000, even 700,000 chests gives only about a 63% chance, and a 50% chance takes about 485,000 chests.
⏱️When Should You Activate the Pirate Shop?
- One find gives two activations: one in 2026 and one in 2027. Each lasts 14 days from when you press Activate Now. Nothing starts automatically.
- 2026 deadline: Dec 15, 2026, 7 PM ET (4 PM PT / 00:00 UTC Dec 16). The game shows the deadline in your local time.
- 2027 window: Jan 1 – Dec 15, 2027. If you miss 2026, you reportedly keep the 2027 activation. press reports
- Season end: Treasure Hunters ends Dec 5, 2026, with an end-of-season live event. A token you find before then can still be activated until Dec 15.
- Timing suggestion (via timesaver.gg): If you already have a token, activating around Nov 5, 7 PM ET runs through Nov 19. That covers dated collab drops through Nov 14 (A$AP Rocky Nov 5, Zoro/Sanji/Chopper Sidekick Nov 7, Lil Uzi Vert Nov 12, Buggy Nov 13, Kasane Teto & Cap'n Hatsune Miku Nov 14). If you want a later item, wait. The One Piece Bundle reportedly leaves around Dec 3–4.
🎁What You Can and Can't Claim for Free
In-game text: "claim anything sold for V-Bucks in the Fortnite Item Shop for free for 14 days from activation. Real money offers, gifting and passes levels/rewards are excluded, and you can only claim one free sidekick you do not already own. This treasure is not transferable."

What is the Fortnite Pirate Token chance?
Nobody outside Epic knows. The most-cited estimate is 1 in 700,000 per chest (from CrisCraft, unverified). A rougher estimate based on LootTrackerFN's day-one numbers works out to about 1 in 3,000. Use the calculator to test either rate or your own.
What are the odds of getting the Pirate Shop Token in Fortnite?
At 1 in 700,000, opening 1,000 chests gives you about a 0.14% chance. A full squad that each opens 1,000 chests has about 0.57%. These are estimates, not official odds.
What is the Pirate Token drop rate?
Epic hasn't published one. HYPEX said the odds were "unknown" on launch day, and that is still true.
How rare is the Fortnite Pirate Shop Token?
Extremely rare. On day one there were reportedly fewer than 10 known winners among millions of players.
Has anyone actually gotten the Pirate Shop Token?
Yes. The first widely shared winner, snowslept, reported it on Nov 1 after about 150 chests in a normal Solos match (Dexerto, TheClick.gg). By the end of day one, LootTrackerFN counted fewer than 10 reported winners (via GamingBible). By Nov 3 we had logged 15 community-reported finds with a clip or screenshot (see Confirmed drops). Epic hasn't shared an official count.
Does opening more chests increase my chance?
More chests give you more rolls, so your cumulative chance goes up. But each chest is an independent roll with no pity timer, so no number of chests guarantees a drop.
Do Rare chests have better odds than regular chests?
Not confirmed. Game Rant says any chest has a chance of dropping it, and timesaver.gg found no evidence that any chest type, POI or mode has better odds. Epic hasn't published per-chest odds.
Can the Pirate Token drop in Zero Build, Ranked or bot lobbies?
Zero Build: yes, according to Game Rant and Beebom, which recommend Squads in Battle Royale or Zero Build. Bot lobbies: Game Rant says you cannot get it in bot lobbies. Ranked: not confirmed yet. We found no reliable source either way.
Does my squad get the token if a teammate finds it?
Multiple outlets report yes (Vice, Beebom, Destructoid, Game Rant). Game Rant and the Times of India say this includes Squad Fill teammates (randoms). Epic's own reward text doesn't mention squads.
What's the difference between Dec 5 and Dec 15?
Dec 5, 2026 is when the Treasure Hunters season ends, with an end-of-season live event. Game Rant and Destructoid report the token is obtainable during the season, but Epic hasn't confirmed an exact cutoff time. Dec 15, 2026, 7 PM ET is the deadline to activate a 2026 token you've already found. The 2027 token can be activated from Jan 1 to Dec 15, 2027.
Has the Pirate Token been vaulted or removed?
We've found no report of Epic vaulting or removing it as of Nov 3, 2026. "Vault" searches usually refer to a trick where explosives break chests inside locked vaults, which can still roll the token. The Treasure Hunters season ends Dec 5, 2026.
Are there Pirate Token locations with better odds?
There's no evidence for that. Finds at Arlong Park and Loguetown have been reported, but any Battle Royale chest can drop it. Pick chest-dense POIs to open more chests.
What does Reddit say about the Pirate Token?
On r/FortniteBR, players share finds and dry streaks (one player reported 100 chests with nothing). Many "drops" are fake clips, so trust only verified posts.
